Default new here, have a question.

im new to this forum, and i signed up becuase i am looking at a 84 camaro my old next door neighbor said he would sell me. wanted to get some advice on it. First he only wants $400 for it. its a 1984 t-top with a 305 and AT, has new dual flowmasters on it. it currently doesnt run, said if you pour some fuel in the carb you can get her to run, thinks it needs a new fuel pump. also it needs new front fenders. is this worth the $400?

Also i would prefer a MT in it, i can do the work myself just wondering what different routes are out there for the MT swap and what tranny/ car am i looking to get one out of?

any info would be a huge help.

well i would think that the fuel pump would indeed be the problem. or a clogged fuel filter or something along those lines. as for the manual tranny you could just pull the t-5 out of a 3rd gen camaro and all of the things for installing it which would be the easy install or you can get a t-56 out of a 4th gen z28 or ss and put that in. but the t-56 is a lot more entailed than the t-5. but the t-5 is a 5 speed and the t-56 is the 6 speed so...

im sure there are other tranny's you can put in but most ppl just do the t-56. if you plan on putting in a more powerful engine i would suggest not going with the t-5
