Default New guy looking in to a 3rd gen

I guys I'm new and looking to set aside my current ride(Escort ZX2 setup for strict autoX) for something with a little more grunt. I was looking into the range of a 84-87 z28 (unless there are reasons I dont know of to get a different yearI'd prefer to get a 5spd unless the autos are known for being able to take a better beating (I'm currently a Ford guy were autos need to get replaced more then oil filters). My over all goal of the car would be a nice suspention with decent handeling and roughtly 350HP. I would like to start off with a few questions.

1. Is there any major mechanical changes in the 3rd gens?
2. How well built are the 3rd gen manuals?
3. Is there any difference in the z28 and IROC or are they just the same car.
4. What is the typical numbers for a Z28 with boltons(intake, headers, exhaust, pullies, good tune)
5. Is it smart to run SC on a stock internal motor (obviously not at a crazy high boost)
6. Are there any major problems to look at on the cars when shoping around?

Thanks for any help guys. I've been wanting to pick up a Z28 since '99 and now have moeny to sink into one. LOL

20 year + used car...Gee I just don't know where to start. And 350HP build up on 305 with bolt ons, dream on and keep dreaming.

If going to write a Post, it helps to be a little speciftic on your questions. And not ramble on & on with everything NOT making a lot of sense. Also I would question who is the ignorant Dummy is Crankshaft???

That post makes perfect sence. I think you need to take reading calss again.

I clearly stated i would prefer a 5spd, and what my goals are for the car, then asked a few questions....its not complicated.

Lets see (4) Posts and three were of the sarcastic kind. My suggestion would be to drop it right here and repost a new question. Also check your Spelling out Crankshaft.[sm=closed.gif]
