need to know how to install a ignition switch
 

i need to replace my ignition switch i have an 86 camaro rs with a 305 eng. its automatic and has a tilt wheel. i have already taken the little dash piece underneath the column off. i see a support with four bolts going into the column and then i see two bolts conecting to the car. my friend told me to take the support off and itll drop just fine but it dont look like itll drop with out messing somthing up. and im not sure what wire harnesses to disconect can someone help me please?
