need help finding out if my Camaro is a z28 or iroc
Okay I have a 1986 Camaro. It has iroc badges in all the appropriate places, wheels and a 305 with a qjet. But I looked on
http://www.iroczone.com/2009/10/1986-camaro-specifications/
And according to my vin I don't have a iroc but a standard z28.... Now is there a way to tell if I have the H.O. 305 (L69)
Or the LG4? Or is my vin incorrect? I'm pretty confused as how to see if it is a real iroc or if someone went through a crazy amount of trouble to fake it.

Alright thanks man I got. I do have an IROC according to the RPO. but it has the LG4 according to the vin.
But according to the website I posted it says the iroc was either the L69, LB9, or L98. And the LG4 was the Base engine for the Z28. So Why does my iroc have the LG4?

So you're trusting the RPO info on the console sticker over the VIN?
Which one was more likely to have been worn out and replaced with a used part over the years, your VIN tag, or the console?

Well I do trust the VIN but it doesn't make sense the the original owner would go through so much trouble to put the badges, wheels, dash, and center console sticker of an IROC. is there a serial number on the engine to make sure it's a LG4 and maybe something is wrong on my vin?

Well now, here's some conflicting info stating the IROC did come with an LG4 engine: Welcome To Camarosource.ca* - Internet's Largest Most Complete Camaro Resource Site
I would check the front pad on the engine, in front of the passenger side head.
Look for the partial VIN that should match the body. If those match, you have an LG4 IROC.
