Need Help 86 Camaro Rear suspension
Im kinda new to Camaros so Im not too sure how to solve this, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have an 86 camaro coupe (82000mi) all original as of 2 days ago when I take off from a full stop I hear and feel a thump
from underneath the car torwards the rear, I checked all the bushings in the rear control arms and they seam to be fine
I also checked the bushing for the brace bar that is bolted to the diff and goes forward and has a bushing close to the tranny
and it lloks fine.
The thump feels like it is coming farther back than where that bar bushing is located, what else could it be.
If it wouldnt be for that brace bar bolted to the diff going forward along the drive shaft I would think the problem would be the control arm bushings but this bar throws me off.
Thanks
Xavier

RE: Need Help 86 Camaro Rear suspension
I had the same problem. It was the Transmission mount. It felt like it was coming from the rearend but since the camaro has a torgue arm the ties the trans to the rearend it was the trans mount.
