How hot did it get? The temp will go up pretty high before the fan comes on

The usual temp is half way or a little bit past but the other day the bottom hose had busted so I had replaced it with a new one and a 160 thermo stat I belive the hose had busted due to the fan not coming on butit comes on when I turn on the a/c even though i dont have a/c could it be the temp switch or is there some sort of underthe hood relay or fuse that I dont know about.

A 160 stat is not the right one to use. It will open and never close to allow the coolant to stay in the radiator long enough to drop in temp. The fan will not come on until around 220. If your hose burts it most likely was bad. The bottom one is the one that always gets soaked with oil and such that softens it. Too much pressure and your cap should relieve it into the expansion tank. You could also have a bad temp sensor. Its on the top of the intake manifols with two wires. A yellow and a black. That is the one that sends its signal to the computer. The sender in the head is for the gauge.
