Default INFO ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I founda great deal on a 350 V8 SmallBlock TPI from a 99 Chevy Silverado and my question is Will it fit in my car? They giveing me what I think is a deal for $900 with everything that the engine may need to run. Its look in great shape and I would really love to know that it may fit! PLEASE HELP ASAP!

um idk I know for a fact is was a small block and it had fuel injectors it kinda looked like an LS engine but on the top of the intake system it said Vortec

EDIT
ok I see there was a 4.8L engine and a 6.0L engine so no 350 sorry i was kinda jumpy when I saw it but still think it would be better or worse then whats in my car now and if so will it even fit?

im pretty sure the new vortec engines are based off the LS blocks. At least the 5.3 and 6.0 are. In that case, youll need to change your mounts a bit in some way, not sure how, but they will need to be changed. But remember, this things are ment for TRUCKS. not a camaro.

Um I thought a small block was a small block and I figure they would mount up close to the same way I'm sure I cant get all the stuff to run the engine and when you say for trucks why wont it work in a camaro? too much torque or something?

a SBC is a SBC, but the LS series is different in 99% of the way. It mounts different.

But trucks arent ment to be fast. they are ment to tow and haul things. Granted it will be a gain over any engine in the third gen, but you could get a lot more out of a regular SBC.

So I basicly shouldnt bother with the engine? Er the one I was going to get I mean. I understand the truck and car engine thing now but they will look the same eh I guess the parts are diffrent. I'm just getting kinda sick of my 305

the simplest way to go at the moment then would be to stick with a SBC and get a 350. Will the vortec work? yea, with some fab work and extra tuneing, but its a bit costly. Do what you want to do man, dont let anything stop ya, im just lettin ya know what i know

Truthfully any and all help is welcomed I was originally going to go with a LS (which I found an swap entire kit for) and a T56 Trans then change the rear drum brakes to disks and probably just leave the rear end alone I'm not sure. After being beat by a Chevy Cobalt SS I knew my car needed more power I'm just not sure how to go about that just yet

lol i use to race one Cobalt SS. hed come back with some other stupid ricer mod and say, ive got ya this time, we do a quicky and id kick his *** and hed say wait till next week. but they are quick little cars no doubt.

and ls swap is sweet. But if you do that, consider a rear end while your at it. yours will be fine so long as you dont do to much to that engine and drive with some since
