If you have to choose, cam or headers?
I want to increase my 'off the line' pull. Nothing radical, just wanna spin some tires and get pushed back into my seat.
Heres the way I see it.
Cam:
Pro's: Nice and easy bolt on operation, can do for about 150 bucks.
Cons: Dont wanna tear down engine that far, I suck at setting timing. (Timing lights LIE!)
Headers
Pros: Also can do for about 150 bucks. Much less intrusive and error prone than a cam job.
Cons: Im afraid the Y pipe will be a PITA. How do I mate headers to stock pipe? (And I dont want to spend hundreds doing it.)
So, if I had to choose, what should I go for?

you cant connect stock pipe to your headers.I just put my flowtechs in about 2 months ago.A shop charged me 110$ to make the new pipes.not too bad.The cam is alot more trouble.Thats what im doing next month and also some cool guys recommended roller rockers,id do those when you decide to put the cam in.Might as well.
yea probally 3.73 there great for puting you bak in your seat off the line plus they still have top end speed to them but if your looking almost just pure of the line maybe go with 4.10 ?
You'll need to have someone press the new bearings on the pinnion gear if you don't have a hydraulic press, but otherwise it's not too bad. I'm in the process of re-gearing my 91 LO3 right now. One thing I can tell you, it's easier to use the shim for the old pinnion for the new bearings, since it doesn't really wear at all, and it's already proven to be the correct spacing for that particular casting of the housing.
