Did you ever find out what was wrong with your camaro? I'm having the same issues. No code but rpms will fluctuate and kill the engine. Hard to start and extremely rough idle

This can be cause but several different things. The most common issues are a slow/dirty IAC or a sticking/dirty EGR valve. Cleaning those and checking for vacuum leaks would be my first step if I did not have a Scanner. For the EGR valve you want to clean it and verify it is not leaking then disconnect it (and plug the line) to see if the issue goes away. Use youtube for generic how to video like Cleaning IAC or Cleaning EGR valves even checking for vacuum leaks.
