I need help bad please with my 83 camaro
I had just bought this 83 camaro from an old lady for 300 bucks
i got the deal of a lifetime for me and the car runs. the problem im having is when it shifts into second it revs up all the way and it trys to go into third but it slips out is there anyway i can fix this or do i need to get a new tranny. would it be the torque converter or what please help me. whats the cheapest to get a tranny rebuilt

sometimes a little bit sometimes alot. its grayish smoke but im starting to get it more im going to ammco thursday to have it changed. this car has been sitting for four years so it needs lots of tlc. is thereanything else that could be wrong with it?

try to look for a replacement before you spend all that money rebuilding. Junk yard mabey mabey you could get the tranny from a wrecked car just look into chevys that have the same motor as yours doesnt have to be a camaro should bolt right on. always check your fluids

Aamco trannys are about as good as a Maaco paint job. Check on a GM Reman from the dealer. Good warrenty and if something goes wrong any dealer should fix it while under warrenty. I got one from the dealer about in02-03 and my shop cost was $1200. And it was a 3year/36,000. I know too may people that qet crap back from Aamco. You will take it back to them and after the 3rd time they will not fix it any more.
