I picked this car up for a rediculous deal! The body is in great condition, But the car runs like its got half the power it should put out. Sometimes it shifts ok and If I get on the interstate it has trouble making it into 4th.
During all of this happening I was trying to pass emmissions; So I took my car to this emmissions shop Dr SMOG hendersonville,TN after replacing the o2 censor, also I tried a bottle of alcahol and a gallon of high octane fuel in between 1/4th and E.
I failed several times previous to this visit to Dr, smog's shop.
He ran my car on a machine a couldnt pass my car.
My uncle says my bell housing is missing from the tranny.
My girlfriend and I share a subaru, But I am starting college soon and I figure I would rather spend 5 grand a fix it rather than drive some import
engine/transmission replacement IS THIS DOABLE?

ok first of all the bell housing is what holds the tranny in. so maybe the shield is missing on the bottom. is it a standard or auto. you will need to check the injectors with a timing light to see if they are spraying right. change the fuel filter and do a tune up. on the no 4th reset the tv cable.
