I'm debating getting a 3.6 direct injected V6, like in the fifth gens, to drop in my 91. I would want to twin turbo it, I like the idea of being able to say my car is "just a V6" but kicking *** afterwards. Is the idea possible?

Honestly, I know I can get the motor, that's not the issue, I just don't know what I have in store for me trying to get the computer to work it and what not

Not saying it can't be done, but unless you can get a whole donor car real cheap an have excellent fab skills, it would be prohibitively expensive to do. To the point you'd be further ahead to just buy a new one and turbo that.
I assume you are already running a v6, a 3.1 maybe? Look into a 3.4/3500 hybrid or if you've mad cash, a 3900 swap. I've been studying this one, and apparently its a tad easier for you 3rd gen guys.
Either way, the more I look the more I'm finding the 60deg v6 to be an exceedingly underrated boost motor
Or be like everyone else and go v8. It will be cheaper to make power

what's holding you back from doing this?

I don't think you'll find anyone in this forum who has done the swap.

why not be the first to do it and keep us apprised?

so, again, what is holding you back from just doing it? Why the debate?

Oh, duh, small block chevy. I have a L88 350 in my garage, and I'm debating dropping that in, but the 2011 V6 just sounds so enticing. Mass amounts of power, good gas mileage, deceiving...

if you want a v6 get a 4.3, it is almost a direct swap. You can run edelbrock intake and carb, the turbo the heck out of it.

Even better fine a CPI 4.3 out of an ss s10. The are sick and cheep in comparison. 300hp isnt hard to do without a turbo.
