Default help on a tpi iroc read me sirs.

sup guys ,my 89 iroc 5.7 tpi will only start if i spray starting fluid in the throtle body.then it runs fine.it is stock besides some headers and i just did the heads.any ideas?i also just took off my thermo off (its hot over here in cali)will that hurt my baby?ALSO it started leaking oil from under the harmonic balancerwich seal is that?Any help on how to?thanks for any help you guys can give me.

does the pump prime when you turn the key on? front oil pan seal. to successfully change the seal the timing chain cover will have to come off. it is possible to get the seal in while it's on but, it will leak. Sick

yes the pump dose prime when i turn the key and the car just turns over till i spray starting fluid then im good to go.dose the dip stick tube have an o ring or seal? cause its leakin oil from there too.thanks for the help. what are you doing in 1/4 mile?

yes it has an o-ring on the dipstick. sounds like your fuel pressure isn't up to speed. mines not doing anything right now lol. i'm in the middle of a cylinder head upgrade. found a set of camel hump heads that i gonna get decked if i can get some accurate numbers on how much needs to come off. sick

Check the fuel pressure at the FI rail fitting cause apparently the engine is not gettin enough fuel. Do the fuel pump and regulator test. Also check the injector fuses. Just because the pump makes noise it does not mean it is actually pumping enough fuel. Usually a noisy pump indicates it is ready to die.

i did the fuel pump and the regulator about 2 months ago.Where are the injector fuses?my fuel pressure is about 40psi and its pretty steady.thanks for the help guys i got to get this car running good its my daily driver.thanks for responding so fast,ill get some pics of the car up here tonight.
