I got my camaro for under 5K. It's completely rebuilt and the only internal gm part i can find is the a/c compresser...which doesn't work. It's a manual 355 but it had a motor swap 50,000 miles ago so scott is right. If its more than 305 cubic inches, its gonna be an automatic. The previous owner took care of all the expensive stuff and I only have minor cosmetic issues to attend to. Also I paid less than 1/4 of what he put into it. BUT! He recently got out of a divorce and is broke as the wizard sleeve on a twenty dollar *****. So scott is dead on with that entire post.

I would go for an '87 IROC 'cause they discontinued the Z28 in 1988 and later and offered fewer options in the IROC to make up for it- so an '87 IROC is generally gonna have more and better options than a later year.

Oh yeah, and I did go for an '87 IROC

Thumbs up

Make ya a deal on my 87 Iroc-Z28 with a 305/5 speed combo. Not a beat up daily driver but not a garage queen either. But nice.
