the 91 shut off on the way into the drivway. now the key will NOT turn in the ignition and the steering wheel is locked up, wont turn, so i cant push the car into the garage because i cant turn it. windows are down and since i cant turn the key i cant put the windows up. i need help asap, the guys at the chevy dealership didnt know their a$$ from a hole in the ground so they are no help.

 

try to turn the steering wheel back and forth while turning the key. it may just be in a bind. Sick

 

my steering column is shot. finnally unolocked it. didnt wanna chance another shut down so towed it to my buddies shop. the column is moving left and right in the engine bay. funfunfun. have the car for a week and now the bs begins. like i've said before, nice car with a laundry list of little things

 

there are 2 bolts that holds the column in place the bolts maybe missing or loose that happen to me once in my 89--if you need to replace column you may want to bypass the vats system column without this system are cheaper if you go this way you will need to fish all the wireing through the column it not that big of a job if i can help let me know i have done this on several camaros

 

can u give me an idea of where those 2 bolts are? are they in the engine bay or behind the dash. i dont think im gonna hafta replace it, ill find out tomarrow at school after my teacher looks at it. but im deffinatly bypassing the vats system.

neither. hmmm. i dono whats up. all i know is she goes strait, then all the sudden she'll pull hard to the left and randomly switch to pulling hard to the right. my dad said he felt the steering column moving but im thinking its somthing suspension related. oh well, ill get her up on the lift at school tomarrow. right now im trying to figure out why she dies while going up my drivway. doesdnt die anywhere else except sometimes when im pulling in. and the ecm still thinks the car is on cuz i can move the tranny all the way through the gears. kind awierd.
