Default headers

I just purchased an '84 Z-28 in decent shape, my problem is w/ the headers. Do I really need the smog pump? Can I just put on headers w/o smog pump. If I can are there any cost effective (cheap) options for me? If not, whaqt are my options?

Thanks Brothers

if your area requiers emissions testing, or a safety inspection, you will need all of that to pass. If you dont have emissions, but if you still have safety inspections, ask around and see if having those parts matter or not.

make a friend. find a guy who does inspections and mabe he'll let it go. i have no emissions at all. this guy i know inspects anything no matter what. as long as it has lights and brakes, its good. plus taking it off the pulley gives you less resistance.

i took all the pulleys off my car for one day, ac, p/s, smog, alt, and water pump. i went for a quick ride cuz i didnt want it to over heat, it reved a lot quicker than usual. no extra power though. just reved faster.
