Default Having car problems

Hello everyone, I'm new to the camaro forum. However, I'm having trouble with my 86 Z28(305 V8,carb engine) camaro for the past few months and now I cant even drive it because as soon as it warms up it begins to backfire but the engine continues to run. I have to pull over, put it back into first gear and slowly drive away without going over 3000rpms. Overwise, it will backfire again. If anyone has any clues of were I can start I will really appriciate it.

Check To See If Your Carb Linkage Is Dirty And Causing The Choke To Stick. The Problem Sounds Fuel Related. But, A Bad Ignition Coil Or Pickup Coil Can Also Cause Backfires. If It Has Jumped Time A Tooth ... That Can Cause Backfires As Well. Does The Engine Cut Out When It Backfires? When Was The Last Time You Had A Tune-up? Sick

I also was thinking that maybe the pick up coil was causing this problem because everything else is new. new spark plugs, ingnition coil, rotor&cap. the engine doesnt cut off it continues top run. Is it hard to change the pick up coil.

Not Really. You Have To Pull The Distributor. Knock The Pin Out Of The Gear And Remove It And Slide The Shaft Out But, If It Isn't Cutting Out Thats Not It. If It Was The Pickup Coil It Would Be Loosing Fire Evident By Stalling And Missing. If You Have Checked The Carb I Would Lean Toward Jumped Timing. Sick
