Default Half-Baked Air Intake Idea

Do you think i'd see a notable difference in performance if instead of having the original Air intake through the front, if i removed the intake pipe and instead ran one through the hood with a round air filter on it, facing front? I know it's be ***-ugly and would hate rain, but for clear weather and all?

if you ask me, it probly wouldnt be worth the hassle, the power increase would be very small. plus it would be too much trouble trying to reroute all the stuff. if you keep the air cleaner and run aluminum tubing down to towards the headlight assembly with a good k&n filter, you would get some cold air and a better looking intake. i did it and it was all good till i put on a new intake manifold then had some bad clearance. so i put on a different air cleaner.

r u sure you want to cut a hole in your hood?

plus i get the picture this is gonna look like a street rod with a blower coming out of the hood, cept its just gonna be an air can?
if i seen that id be all [sm=laughat.gif]

if anything i was thinking get the tpi air intake set up and run it down to the grille like its supposed to go. but you still probably notice the diff. and it might not even work

Actually you would be suprised! " How well it works". I took my stock air cleaner shortened the snokel, ( **** canning the thermac devise & flapper, and then ran 3inchtubing down under the car coming out in front of the sway bar. Huge difference in throttle response on the freeway! and better MPG. If you want to see a pic and suppose i could snap 1 real quick.[sm=Flahssssss.gif]
