Default Getting my car to lift

I'm just asking for a list of what I need to make my car lift/ get the front tires off the ground, doesn't matter how high up, just want the lift off.
Thanks.

650hp, transbrake, a well prepped track and 5500 rmps. that should do it.

haha thanks. My new engine probably generates about 400 horse. I just wanna know stuff like what should i do to my back axles, what should I buy and what should i get with the fronts so when it comes back down, nothing breaks. And what are easy ways to make more torque?

Thread title is mis-leading. I thought you were going to want recommendations for a floor jack!

This might be a good grocery list to get you started for about 10 grand

Built Transmission (4L60,700R,TH350,TH400) with transbrake $3000
Built 12 bolt or 9 inch with 4.10,4.11,4.54 gears $2500
Custom 3 1/2 inch Drive shaft $400
Triple Disk converter $900
28 inch M/T slicks $400
4x15 pizza cutters to lighten up the front $250
10x15 on the back to get her to hook $400
8 pt cage (this is a must at this level) $1000

I would also say you will need to build up the front with a new K member and A-arms. Your also going to want to stop that so new brakes are going to be a must.

Also 400 horses is not going to get you there in a fully loaded 3rd gen.

Also lifting a car might look cool but for getting down the track it is not so good. A car with a well built suspension will keep the car on the ground and help it hook.

Drag racing shocks or struts allow the front end of the car to rise quicker and easier than conventional shocks will let it, which gives you faster weight transfer to the rear wheels.
Put the battery in the trunk. You'll have 30-some pounds off the nose and over the tires where you need it more.
And aluminum heads will lighten the front end considerably more.

Explain to us your 400 HP.........that kind of power is on the top end of a mild performance engine. Its the limit of bolt on additions. How have you built it?

i do know with the 4th gens, it can torque lift the front left with just some bolt on, slicks, and a healthy rear. as far as 3rd gens, i dont think you need 650 hp to get it done, but im sure something over 500 can get one wheel up
