Assuming the 350 is injected, did you check that the injectors are being fired? Have you checked the fuel pressure with a gage; just because the pump is running does not mean it is pumping properly.

Is it carbed or injected now??
You are saying you ran a line from the FUEL Pump to a gas can and started the FUEL Pump and it PUMPED fuel???
Where did you hook the line up at??

Its carberated. And I hooked the line to the pump and started the car and it runs fine like that. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the old fuel pump in the gas tank could that cause this problem?

If you're still using the in-tank pump and don't have a fuel pressure regulator before the carb, a flooding carb from having way too much pressure is the problem.
However, if you're running a mechanical fuel pump, trying to draw the gas through the (now dead) in-tank pump is going to be a big restriction.

Does the electric pump work if you hot-wire it? It would be less work in the long run to add a pressure regulator and bypass the mechanical pump.
