Default Front suspension upgrades?

I am helping my buddy rebuild his 84 RS. We are building up a 350 now to replace the 305 that will soon be a coffee table.

My question is that I have seen 3rd gen cars with new corvette rims on them. Looking at the front spindles the bearings stick out through the center of the stock rims. What spindle/ suspension is being run to allow the corvette rims to fit? please tell me its as simple as finding a wrecked vette and stealing its front suspension.

Thanks for your time everyone.

Ill be posting up photos and a tutorial for the build were doing. There are never enough tutorials

You need 2" wheel spacers to gain the correct backspacing to run Corvette rims. Coincidentally, the spacers take care of the spindle interference.

at 2" won't that be enough to make the wheels stick out of the fenders?

He would need to bump the rear out 2" as well. Thats a little to drastic to only do the fronts.

No, the wheels will not stick out past the fenders. Vette rims do not have the correct backspacing/offset to fit 3rd gens without 2" spacers. You need a full set of 2" spacers on all four wheels.
