finally getting a 350

A guy is selling a 350 for $400. He said its got everything minus the intake up, but its not assembled. I don't really know the specs on it yet (cam, heads, etc.) but he said everything is new including the block. I'm gonna put it together and buy a tuned port setup from a Corvette show coming up in August. Will the 350 be too much for my T-5 to handle? If so, how much work would it be to put a ZF-6 from a Vette in my 88. A friend of mine is selling one cheap.

the t-5 is doing fine for me and ive got plenty of power going to it. But it was rebuildt not to long ago. If its got a lot of miles on it, scrap it and get something else. Unless you want to rebuild it

RE: finally getting a 350

the t-5's are a very tender subject, some guys swear they wont hold up while some swear they will. ive known a couple guys that stuck them behind a 350. what i can tell you for sure is, if you think your going to be taking it to the track and draging it or racing or showing off on the streets, you'll trash it real fast, But if your one of those guys who takes it real easy and has never tested your cars 0-60 times from a dead stop you shouldnt have any problem. cant realy help you with the vette tranny havent had the chance to work with one, i do know you can pick up the older 4 speeds pretty cheap and they'll hold up against anything.:D
