Doesit cut offmomentarily, or does it force you to pull over and restart the vehicle? Any check engine light?

Make sure you don't have a sticking throttle valve, and that the IAC valve is working OK, also check setting of TPS.

Does your voltmeter on your dash show 14v when this happens or no? If not I would check your batt and alternater connects maybe even load test your batt and alternator

I know that this wont help at all but my 87 IROC dida very similarthing. I took it to several shops and no one could figure it out. What it ended up being was retarded, the steering colum was loose and it was walking back the key.
