I think everyone that has a Hot Rod with a computer should invest in a code reader. It'll save You a lot of headaches. It shouldn't be too hard to find one. I bought Mine at AdvAuto.

Jumper the two black wires on the aldl connector (a+b wires) and turn the key on engine of and count the flashes. It cost a paperclip. first you will get a code 12. one flash..pause...two flashes. It does that 3 times them it will flash codes in the same way, three times each code. When it flashes code twelve again it is at the end of the stored codes.

The code reader will give you the same thing your check engine light does.

Bend a paper clip and stick it in tha A&B terminals of the ALDL connector under the dasboard. You want to short the two black wires toghether (terminals A & B).

Connector pinout looking at the front of ALDL connector:
F E D C B A top row
G H J K L M bottom row

Don't start the engine, just turn the key ON position & wait for the light to flash.
