Default Does the Ecu control the following?

i have an '83 camaro that i want to totally do away with anything computer controlled. tell me if im correct but i can put on a vaccum advance distributor, put on an intake w/out egr., take out the ecu. what else is controlled by the ecu? and also i removed the "air pump" that helps the catylitic converter, is that a must have item? how bout the transmission on this model, its shift points arent electronically controlled are they?
im new to the camaro world, i recently did work on my 94 crown vic PI. ive never did work with a carb. car.

The carb is eletric and the TCC is computer controled. If you check summit racing you can find a few modules though that will work the TCC with out a computer.

Well if you have a 91 with injection then you need the computer to work that. And it is not a module with a TCC but a module that works your existing TCC in an automatic.

I had just read your other post after this one. Its pretty much the same thing as 83 posted but you also need to make your fuel pump work. The 83 would have a mechanical pump.

And a distributer. You can use a toggle for the carb with an opil pressure switch. The car will start from the fuel in the float bowel and then the pump will run after there is oil pressure. The switch is handy if you run the bowl out of fuel. And watch when you but an intake because you need one that bolts to your heads which are different from 86 and older.
