Default differential question

i have a 91 rs and the rear axles just died on me, so i found a posi out of a 88 iroc, i was planning on taking the whole rearend and putting it in my car. will it fit in without having to change anything and also can i put my 3.08's from my diff. now and put them in the posi?

p.s. i just have the stock open differential right now.

thx

For starters the axle shafts are different 1988 (26 splines) vs 1991 (28 splines). Then what diff is from the 88 a 9-bolt or a 10-bolt??? They are NOT cpmpatable. You need to do more research or give more info for a correct answer.

Like I said NOTHING from a 9-bolt will work with 10-bolt.
All the parts are NOT interchangeable. Again NOTHING.

All 3rd Gen Cars after 1989 have 10-bolt rears with 28 spline axles, so yes you have a 10-bolt 2-series carrier with that 3:08 ratio. It ia a manual (5sp) correct?
