camaro wont turn over! help please!
hey, my 84 camaro used to turn over and start right up. yesterday i go to try it and nothing. i put the key in, it makes the buzzing noise and when i turn it to start it it makes a click/buzz noise sort of simliar to what youd hear from the blinker when its on. starter doesnt even try moving. im wondering what my possiblities are with whats wrong? any ideas to throw out there for me to start trying to get her going? thanks very much guys

First thing I would do is make sure your battery cables are on tight and the battery posts are clean then make sure the batterys not dead. If its not your battery then your starter might be shot. You can take that into any parts store and get it tested

no im pretty sure its not a bad battery. battery is fairly new and i had it charging the night before. there is power to the battery the lights come on and shine really bright i know it has enough juice to turn it over...but now there isnt even the clicking in the starter when it doesnt have enough power, there is nothing, just the one click noise in the dash area.

so when u turn the key to the start position what does the lights and volt gage do? sure sounds like a dead battery. if the battery checks out take the battery cables off and wire brush the heck outa them then do the same to the battery terminals and reconnect.

when i put the key in volt gage appears to be sitting right or just under. it sits somewhere in between where it should be i believe. i put the battery up to the charger unplugged and it shows it is charged to a bit over 12 so i dont think its the battery...

Sounds like it might be a bad starter solenoid or starter. Sometimes the connection post inside doesn't make enough to crank, but simply pull in without cranking. I'd pull the starter and check the solenoid out.

i figured it out, starter wire was melted or rubbed through for some reason and must have been shorting out. got new wire and and it works mint, i also think it was the source to my battery drain. thanks for the suggestions guys
