RE: camaro body repair advice needed

I should have clarified that you don't want to use a conventional drill bit on the spot welds that are on the car now. You can use a regular bit on the replacement core support if you want since the body panel that it's attached to is scrap. There's a special bit that's used for cutting out a spot weld. Using a regular drill bit on the car will leave a hole underneath where the spot weld holes are and give you nothing to weld the replacement panel to. Of course, that's assuming that all the spot weld holes fall in exactly the same place on both the old and new panels. If you don't have a grinder to remove the spot welds, something like this spot weld drill is what I'm referring to.

Yup Spot-Eze were the ones I always used. Except I used give $30 or so to the Mac or Snap-on guys. But they would warrenty them for me :)

But you can still go through or too deep and thin the metal with those as well. Thats why many times I would just use a stone grinder or cut off wheel and thin the old panel enough where I could peel it and use a soft back grinder to clean up with afterwards.

Well, you know...some people are just naturally good with words, and some aren't. :D
Plus, I added a little flair with a (!) at the end.
Not bad for a 7th grader, eh? ;)

Not bad at all. But that is expected as you are an upper classman. I am only in grade 6.[8D]
