as long as you flush the system of old oil and you replace the o rings and the reciever dryer ,you should be good to go to use r-134-a good luck

you got the bases covered. dryer needs changed, and needs to be held in a vac for 30 minutes to boil out the old oil. install new oil and refrigerant and be done. if theres a leak, it will be found when vacuumed down. best bet is to have a shop do it so if it does leak after its done, its on them for not finding it instead of it being your cost.

well i decided i would just gander at my a/c system before i brought it in monday after work found my sure leak. i took that little plastic cap off of the high pressure side of the system and what little r12 i have left came hissing out, the valve stem on the high pressure side is bad. im pretty happy that this may be the one and only leak and will only cost me a few bucks to fix. just thought id give you an update.
