ok guys on the 23rd of sept over here in fontana cali in the california speed way me and my family have a 5 way race to see who has the fastest 1/4 mile time.It is a 5.3 silverado with an ari raid intake and superchips programer and exhaust,a 1991 350 carbed camaro 40 over pistons intake headers and mallory ignition, 5 speed, a 1994 ss impala lt1 with comp work done, air intake ,exhaust and msd coil,shift kit,air foil.A 1990 corvette just an intake the rest stock no cats.And finally my 89 camaro 5.7 tpi i have headers,excell ign,cold air intake, msd coil,exhaust, no smog everything has been cancled no cat, this the 28 monday im getting an air foil for throtle body, and a raicg chip (dont know wich one yet)after that i am at a loss!I need help! the winner of it gets 500$ worth of upgrades for their car.What do i need to do to my car to take the prize home?Anything would help i could use the mula thanks guys!!!

 

Throw some slicks on it. that 91 camaro sounds like the one to beat.

put a set of 1.6 ROLLER TIP Rockers. These will help alot. Your car should have the 1.5 stock rockers, You can get the 1.6 Roller Tip rockers from Jegs or Summit. If you put these rockers on, it will have more lift at the VALVE! creating more flow, and more HP. An easy way to make hp.

 

If you got forged pistons in it, get a buddy to hook you up with like a 125 shot of nos. That'll get ya the money. If you got cast i wouldn't try to run nos but if you do and you want to stay under a 100 shot and i would make a whole lot of passes with it. And i know to get a nos set up is prolly out of your range, but if you got some hookups.

 

sorry i should have read through that I ment with cast pistons stay under a 100 shot and i WOULDN'T run very many passes.

 

thanks for the help guys.I think a nos kit is my best shot to win.i do have stock pistons so ill keep the shot under 100.How much do the roller rocker tips run for?

 

i would recommend not doing a nos kit. Stock oem pistons that have several thousand miles on it will not last with a nos kit.

As for the roller tip rockers a price for the ones i was recommendin is probably 200 bucks.

I would recommend the full roller rockers, they are only bout 50bucks more w/ out shipping, and they are lighter also. neways hope this helps
