Big Block in a camaro??
 

I got a friend that is giving me a 427 for my 87 camaro. Can anyone tell me on how hard will it be to fit with long tube header?? I am worried how have to do some major mods because the 427 will be to wide with headers. Any suggestions....

yeah a guy at my work has a 86 camaro and he converted it into a 540 and he races it..
he had to put in a manual steering box to make it fit with headers. look at his website to see hes got a bunch of stuff listed on how to fit it in, its www.hardtail.com

I Have And 85 Iroc With Full Length Headers. The Choices Were Cut And Alter The Frame Or Cut A Few Inches Off The Headers And Weld The Exhaust Straight To The Header. I Chose The Latter. He Welded The 3" Exhaust Straight To The Header Which Gave Enough Clearance To Bend The Pipe Around The Frame Into Glass Packs And Dumped Just In Front Of The Rear Wheels. Sound Is Unbelieveable. Was Kinda Pissed That He Cut My Headers Without First Telling Me, But It's Better Than Cutting The Frame. The Trick Will Be To Lay The Headers In Then Ease The Motor In On Top Of Them. Then Bolt Them Up. It Will Take Some Helping Hands Positioning And Repositioning The Headers, But I Think You Could Get It In. Sick
