91 RS with Very Rough Idling
Hello,
I have a 91 RS Camaro, 305, automatic transmission. The gas peddle started getting really hard to push. When I first got this car many years ago, I never remember it being that hard to push down. Almost like your foot gets tired just driving it. At stop lights it was idling very very rough to the point you could feel it in your seat. I also noticed that the oil gauge would float around the red or just above. When I start it after sitting, the gauge is up a little, but after driving for awhile it drops all the way back to the left.
So I got a tune up and also had the oil sending unit switched out which was the recommendation of several people I know who claim to know about cars. The tune up did nothing for the rough idle and the gauge is still doing the same thing. I feel like I have a little more power, but working the gas is still like work.
Is the rough idling and the oil pressure linked at all or are they two different problems? I know next to nothing about engines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
