Looking into getting a 89 Iroc.

Says it has 5.7L. The car does have A/C. I heard somewhere that the 350 Irocs did not come with A/C. If that is true, then this thing is a 5.0 which is cool, just not gonna pay what he wants for it.

 

Before buying a IROC with a 350TPI (only factory stock set up) make sure you CHECK the VIN....Engine code for 350 TPI is the number (8) and is the 8th digit in the VIN number. Yes, almost all 350 IROC's came with A/C (was extra cost option).

Just remenber more sellers try to pass the 305 TPI off as 350. No visible difference between them. So check the VIN and don't belive everything the seller claims.

Yeah the 350's only came in automatic.

 

Not the perfect identification....305 TPI also had Auto 700R4....I would still go with the VIN.

 

True, but it can be a warning sign if someone claims to have a 350 with a 5-speed.

 

The reason I said that was he claimed it was a 5.7. If it was manual then he would know something was changed. But you are right vin is best way to go.
