I got a 89 rs i took the 6 out and threw in a 350 out of a 98 truck

i looked and found i had GU6 Axle, Rear 3.42 Ratio

what should i do here i was thinking about just getting a locker to put in it

 

a full locker will be terrible for driving on anything but the track. get a posi. its best for driving on the roads and it does ok on the track, but not as well as the locker is on the track

 

thanks i will start looking threw the junk yards here i dont drive the car everyday just when someone wants to show off

i kinda like the gears wish i had a little more but i think the posi will help

 

3.42 is a pretty good all around gear, still gets good gas mileage ( as much as you can with a V8) and still has some pull to it. while not as much as even a 3.73, still good. Im looking for something like that myself when i get around to doing that stuff
