Default 87 Iroc 305 engine problems

The engine runs fine. When the car is driven for awhile and I stop somewhere, I shut the car off for a few minutes. I start the car put it in reverse or drive and the car dies. The only way to keep it going is giving it gas while shifting and once on the road it doesn't act up. Unless I get stuck at a light then I need to put the car in neutral and rev the engine a little. Any advice would be appreciated.

you have to rev the engine in neutral to keep it running? if so that isn't a torque converter problem. is it carbed or tbi? sick

I meant to say put it in neutral or rev the engine in gear. Where would I unplug the connector for the TTC?

If you have a TPI check the TPS or the IAC located of the side of the thottle body. One or the other will affect the Idle on start up. The IAC can be cleaned and reinstalled/ TPS needs to be checked for the correct voltage to ECM. My guess would be a stuck IAC.

Well I looked for the Torque Converter Clutch connector and it was already unplugged. I am totally stumped.

I would suspect the torque converter also. Did you plug it in and see what happens?
