Thanks for your help I looked but could not see a clip on the **** or are you talking about removing the whole lever. Don't mean to sound stupid but I just wanted to make shure.

If you havent took it ou yet...
I recently bought a brand new shifter **** for my camaro, and what i did to take out the old **** was spray WD-40 where the **** and the stick meet, then grab a wrench and turn the **** as hard as you can, usually their screw on.

Is it an automatic?
If yes does it have a round ****?
If yes then you need to pull the button out and there is a snap ring inside there.
