I am not sure what kind of deal you got on the V6 but I can find 84 v8 all day long for $1000-$1200 You will have a tuff time converting a v6 to a V8 for less then that. Depending on the year of the motor you will be useing the 350 can make more HP then a 305, The 305 was a motor design to pass emissions and get good gas milage.

It mostly depends on what you want out of the car and your budget.

well i bought the car for 500 and the v6 is whats in it ,,, the main reason for the car with the v6 is it has a solid body and frame and i kinda want to rebuild evrything my self. i basicly have the motor swap it self understood its the wiring im not sure on, what all would i need in that area ???

Small children can out run the 305. 350's are more common and easier to get parts for. Much more potential in a 350.

i get that the 350 would be the more resonable/ the smarter thing to do but what wiring would i need to get ??

A lot of the wiring will depend on the motor you get. An old school 350 with HEI distributor and a 3 wire alternation will need very little wiring. Infact I think all the wiring is all ready there you just might have to figure out which wire and change the ends to match what you are hooked too. If you want AC or cruise that will add a good bit of work to the wiring. The starter is pretty simple, Just buy the correct battery cable for a V8 car.

You will also need a transmission. Your V6 tranny will not bolt to a V8. If you get any real torque out of the motor the rear will not hold together very long. By the time you add a set of duel exhaust and headers you are going to pass that $1000 mark I said in the above post. If you can find a complete car wrecked you might get everything you need for less then 1K, working with used exhaust parts is my idea of bad weekend. Unless they are stainless 

I'd look for a donor car,if you can find a junker Z28,roll over wreck or a rustbucket or whatever that you can get cheap you'll have everthing for your swap over.
If you can get a running beater you might have it all.

You just need the mount from a V8. They just bolt in. They should be easy to find and cheap.
Parts car really seems the way to go, There are some great deals out there.
