I am currently in the process of swapping out my 305 4bbl for a 350 and i noticed that there are all these wires and plugs and sensors that dont go anywhere but they all attach to the computer underneath the dash.
So what will happen if take out my computer or should i just disconnect all the useless wires from the computer and leave it under my dash.
thanks

Most of those wires and sensors are for computer management and instruments (temp, oil pressure, knock sensor) but if you dont know where they go then 1) you did a poor job removing the engine and are in a world of hurt when it comes to hooking any of it back up and 2) now you are going to have to locate a wiring diagram and figure out what each one goes too.
Have fun with that.
To answer your original question....if you really dont need it, you can remove it.

Thanks for the reply.
This post is not a joke.
I bought this car last year (had a 305 engine, holley carb and TH350 transmission) and none of the wires that go to the computer underneath the passenger dash appear to have been connected to anything except one wire to the positive terminal on the battery.
I have identified all the ignition sytem and sensor (oil/water) wiring and have labeled and left them in the engine bay.
In he process of instl a 350 crate motor and wanted to clean up and paint the engine bay prior to instl.
Just looking for some feedback concering removal of the computer.
Appreciate all advice, basically I am going "old school" with this setup.
Thanks again.

Got it....so assuming you have a basic idea of what you are doing......rip it all out. I tore EVERYTHING out from mine, all Im running is basic ignition stuff.

Be careful what you cut, and leave enough room on the ends to reconnect if you do find you clipped something essential.
