406 build with Howard cam
Hey guys I building a chevy 406 retro fit roller motor that Im building for my 89 Iroc and need a little advise.Im going with a howards cam110265 specs are I 294 E 302 234/242 @ .050 lift .533 .548 lsa 112.The engine has a cr of 10:5.1.And I plan on using a Wieland stealth ram. Also 700r4 tranny with 390 diff gear. Two questions 1. Is this a good street combo 2.Cam says 2800 stall but i have a 2000 stall will that tear anything up,you know trans, rear, engine etc.Thanx

You'll need at least a 2800 stall, a looser 3000 stall will make it much more street friendly. The transmission will need to be built to handle the power and how long the rear end lasts is up to how hard you beat on it.

Almost done , first build on 89 IROC
Well guys the engine is almost done.Just bought the Weiand stealth ram.Cant wait to put it on.I was going to go carb, but I read a lot of postings that say that its a pain in the rump. And its hard enough trying to get some one to put the motor in for me as it is(with out trying to rip me off). Its a shame basically everyone in the north jersey area seems to want to rip you off,or not fix the car right.Anyway Im staying fuel injected.when I get the engine in the car and get it drivable Im going to take it to this dyno shop in I think Little ferry and Ill post the numbers.I appreciate all of the helpful comments.
