Question 350????

Alright im looking to buy a 1985 camaro iroc-z. The guy says it has a 350 carburated in it. I didnt think they made them in the 1985 camaro. Am i wrong or not. And also if the 350 does go in the 1985 camaro can you give me some facts about the 350 engine. Thank you very much

The 350 is not original, it wasn't offered in 85's. Even when the 350 was introduced in 86, it was TPI, not carburated. The 350 is probable swapped from a newer model.

The 350 is a good engine and this is a very commonly performed swap for the 3rd gen Camaros.

the only factory 350 in the third gens were the 87 and up tpi z28's. all of them had centerbolt valve covers. however its been 25 years since the car youre looking at was made and chances are its been swapped. try to get some casting numbers or confirmation from the block as there are no external differences between the 305 and 350

Seller trying to pass a 305 LG4 for a 350. Check the the vin and it will be be a 305, reason no 350 until 87 and they were not carb'd

Did he say it was swapped? He could be saying its a 350 when its not since you cant tell the difference between a 305 and 350. Do what microkid said and find some proof. You should be able to tell from drivin it too
