Are you asking about the similarities of the canks for a 305 vs 350, or the differences of a 305 vs 350?
I would bet Summit knows what crank goes in a 305 and a 350. If they say it's the same then believe it. They aren't A-Zone or Failvance.
From what Iv'e read the flexplate bolts don't line up, so if you replace the flexplate then the starter from the old flexplate might not work either. I assume because of the number of gear teeth.
The new crank should be balanced with the pistons and rods.

Simple, the bore sizes are different. The 350 has a 4" bore, 305 has a 3.736" bore. Both have a 3.48" stroke.
And no, you can't bore out your 305 block that much to make it a 350.

305 is a lighter and weaker block. It is not a good base to start a build with.

How is it lighter, or weaker besides being a 2 bolt main?

Casting dimensions for 305 block internals are thinner then 350. Major reason you cannot bore out a 305 block.
