I really don't think that temp sensor is the problem. When the engine is cold, the system is in "open loop" mode and the engine runs off of factory computer presets. That temp sensor is what tells the computer to go into "closed loop" mode after the engine warms up, and then the fuel/air mix will be adjusted by the engine management sensors. With the factory FI removed, and an aftermarket carb in it's place, that "open/closed loop" function (to adjust air/fuel mix) no longer exists.

mine did the same thing. then it stop running altogether turns out my fuel pump was bad
