What could the problem be?? ive had so many damn problems with this car its getting so annoying!!

It dies and then it will start up again for like a second then quickly die, we had to push it like 3 blocks to get it home..... (so many mustangs drove by, it was hell)

Now its sitting out front and im waiting for it to cool down or w/e so it will start again and i can get it up my drive way

i had this same damn problem in my 91 firbird its the sensor that plugs into the manny upp front to save my life i cant thank of what its called....damnit.

 

the sensor has to do with the temp its about a inch or so long and its metal damnit i cant thank of what is called.

 

collant temp sensor it should be on the front of your intake manifold mine did the same as urs as soon as it got to normal temp it would just die i spent over a grand trying to fix it and a gm tech buddy of my step dads fixed it in 15mins while dranking beer in his garage only thing i had to do for him was leave a nice set of pos for em great guy easy fix.

Is this what your talking about? Because i replaced my intake manifold and i dident screw one of those things back into my new one, i just used a screw plug where i had extra holes.

I probly need to go buy one of these and plug it into one of the loose wires i have hanging around my engine bay right??

 

That is exactly what im talking bout man that should fix you right up ur pcm or ecm will throw a code for it not being in use and cause the car to shut down shortly after its drove for aprox 10-15mins.

 

Ok but did yours screw into the manifold directlty?

Heres a pic of my engine, the thing the arrow pointing to is the temp sensor right???? Its broken so i probly need to get a new one.

 

yea mine only had one though it was a 3.1 but it went bad and we couldnt figure what the hell was going on bought all kinda parts and this fixed it for free.The pic you posted above of the sensor is what im talking about if youve just got it pluged off then its not gonna show its working and cause issues so just replace it and see if it helps im quite sure its that and yea its on the front of the intake manny.
