hey will yall post and tell me which side your dipstick is on. and if its a 350 or 305, factory motor or not what year it is. i bought a car and the guy swears up and down it was a 350 but its not supposed to be, and i believe u can tell the difference in the crank pulleys and dipstick placing but i cant remember which is which thanks

 

i got a 305 from 1985 and its on the passenger side.

 

Dipstick and other methods to tell a 305 from 350 is guess work. If the guy tells you it a 350 just check the Vin first and later the block numbers. Also no stock 350's before 1987. Oldest game in the books "its a 350" from sellers.

 

yea the guy i bought my car from swore up and down it was a 350 even though it was obviously a 305, b/c it was the original motor wiht a 5sp.

 

well by no means am i calling my car FAST but it is a completely different feel goin from the 305 vortech truck i have to my camaro. i believe its had a motor swap because none of the sensers are hooked up for my gauges. and it feels reletively quick
