unless it truly is a 4l60e with a removable bellhousing, then it wont bolt up to the 305. the 3.1 uses a different bolt pattern. if you need a trans, just buy one or rebuild yours

if the tranny were the only reason then I'm in full agreement with you.

But, if the dash isn't cracked, the weatherstripping in great condition, the pull down motor in good order then there might be $500 in parts

the tranny isn't the only reason. I was going to use the interior In my car then part out the rest on cl and make the money back also the guy said he had all the receipts from the motor being rebuilt and the transmission being turned into the 4l60e

Danger Danger Will Robinson

if he had the receipts and the thing has decent tires or interior then he could get over $500 for the parts and then sell the scrap to the junk yard for $40-$50

when I bought my 89 RS project vehicle

it had

new tires
new brakes
new battery
305 v8
tranny shifted but had a broken mount
clogged fuel filter
slight dent in the front nose which i later repaired

I could have replaced the filter and mount and driven it but instead restored it because it was for a project

I paid $500

now compare vehicles and if you go to the 3rd gen projects you will see my thread and the before pictures so decide for yourself
