I came across a good deal for some rims and I bought them. They're 17s so they're a small upgrade from my 15s, I was wondering what tire specs should I go for on them to keep them from grinding?

 

I have a 81 Z28 and want to upgrade to 17x8 wheels myself. I'm thinking a 235,60 would look good.
But like you, I want to be sure they worn't rub. So I'll be watching this thread.

 

I have a 1979 Z-28 RS with 17 x 8 American Racing Torque Thrust II`s I run 45`s and 40`s series tires I forget the exact tire size up front,But in back I run a 275/40 17s in the rear on a rim with 5 "of back spacing .And they don`t rub.So it depends on what backspacing you have,I would take it to a tire shop and talk to them.rather than getting the wrong tire.And with a four tire sale you might even a discount.
