Tire Suggestions for my '76

Tire Suggestions for my '76
I've got a set of Cragar Prostars that I bought for my '76 Camaro probably about seven years ago or so but had to drop the project for a long time. I am now in a position to actively start working on the car again and the first thing I wanna knock out is wheels and tires. The Prostars are, IIRC, 15x4.5" for the front and I'm pretty sure they are 15x10" for the rear (although for some reason, I found a reference I made back when I first bought the wheels that the rims were 15x11" but I can't find any proof that they are actually 11" wide not 10" and 10" seems to be much more common.) The big question I have is what size tires should I go with for these wheels (front and rear), keeping in mind that I REALLY don't want to have to tub the rear to fit em if possible. I have a brand new pair of air shocks for the rear to help adjust the clearance top to bottom but I don't want to go too wide with the tires so that they are no longer tucked into the wheel well.
EDIT:
Mods, please move to Wheels, Tires, and other Exterior under Chassis Tech. I feel like this thread will get more exposure there.

maybe a 305 50 15? use this calculator to figure out the best option for fitment...

Need more info to determine if they will fit. Offhand a 15x10 wheel is really pushing the limits, even with the right offset, and as small a tire as it will accept. The smallest tire will probably be a 295-50-15, but if the wheels you have are too deep, anything will rub, and even perfect you may need plenty of air in the air shocks, and they'll still hang outside the body a little.

The 295 50 R 15 that I have on my 81 Z don't rub and they are on stock rims, but then again I bent the lip in on the rear fenders just to make sure and I'm not running air shocks..... Had a bad experience with them.... Don't know if this helps you out.

Just mounted and balanced my 275 45 18 (18x9.5) for rears and 235 45 17 (17x7) on the front. Both with +0mm offset. I'll get them on the '70 this weekend and let you know how they work. I use a tire calc off the NastyZ28 site that works very well.

Depends on back spacing . Also p275-50R15 BFG and p295-50R15 are my favorites. Try 5.5" Backspace on 15x10 with a 1/4" or smaller spacers may require different on either side. heat and push in your seat belt humps or use a board & rubber mallot and watch for contact at the fenderlip, shock bolts and shock body. The fat bodied 'air-shocks' = problematic and stock style over axle exhaust highly doubtful. Every car is different and this fit is better left for firebirds and TA's with their slightly more roomy fenders. Really 275/60R15 on 15x8 or 15x9 provides the safest clearance for camaros, but 15x10 with 5.25" give or take an 1/8" or 1/16" total backspacing has been done with the p295-50. And fox mustangs are 6.25" give or take an 1/8" or 1/16" total Backspace with the p295-50. Food for thought this is with massaging.
