1971 Z28 Front Clip

Hi.
New to this site looking for guidance re: the front clip from my friend's Z28. He just repainted his father's car; the shop opted to install a new front clip, claiming that it was not worth the effort to separate the upper and lower sections of the original due to corrosion. The clip is now sitting in my garage because we're wondering if its of any value to anyone. Hate to throw it away, so if someone can offer some guidance or is interested, please let me know. I can provide photos...
Thanks.

I've been told the lower portion is standard Camaro or SS, the upper is RS...

Not sure how that could be accomplished? The lower std. panel has rectangular parking lights, whils an RS upper has round parking lights between headlights and grille. So does your front sheetmetal have both openings for round and rectangle lights?

You need to have more post count to post pics. I think 10 posts. So do you have both styles of turnsignal openings? Does it have the short bumpers and the urethane nose/grille extension?

You need a minimum of a 3 post count to upload pics. I don't believe there's a minimum for posting a link to your photobucket account (if you have one), as I've seen other new members with a count less than 3 post their pics using photobucket. It's been a while since being a newbie!

Thanks guys. Hopefully three posts will do the trick and I'll be able to post some images...

Correct. Those are standard front end pieces. Welcome to CF by the way.

That's a standard header panel (upper) and standard lower valance. (lower)

Thanks everyone for clearing this up; I'm a vintage Euro guy so out of my element...

Are these worth keeping or should we just scrap them?

Razgriz81 12-10-2013 07:12 PM

Thread revival.... I would keep them. You never know what will happen if you haven't already thrown them out. If your luck is anything like mine as soon as you throw them out or sale them you'll need them. Just my 2 cents....plus if its still good then why not keep them or make money off of them?
