10 inch wide rear wheels
Hi,
I have a 77 Camaro and i currently have 15x8 wheels on the rear with Cooper Cobra GT tyres. I have just changed my rear springs so have a good 2inch gap between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch. Is this gap enough to install 15x10 on the rear, as they will be inline with the wheel arch. I know that generally there will be ok, but just worried about going over speed bumps or pot holes in the road, would they come in contact with the arch, or is the 2inch gap good enough?

How much width from your present 15x8 wheel and tire to leaf springs and shocks? You must select the proper back spacing for the best possible fit and try to avoid just throwing on any available 15x10 in my opinion. But here is a fact: I use 15x10 with 5.5" backspacing and I use spacers to put that back space total @ 5.25" (your vehicle may need minor adjustment from this so I recomend test fitting with the 1/4" spacers then using smaller ones if necassarry to slightly move the wheel in or out in 1/8" increments maybe but I didn't need it on my car). I use a BFG p295/50, I hammered my rear seat belt humps in with a board and rubber mallot wether it needed it or not. I do NOT use air shocks. And I used aftermarket studs. Wheels I used are Weld draglites. The inner fender lip on some cars may also need be rolled especially if you sit lower than my ride height. Also check for tire to leaf spring contact and check for shock stud to wheel contact. Wich there should be none there should be enough space between the leafsprings and tire that if that tire squishes it won't make contact. Hope this helps. 
'BTW' -Note; your overaxle exhaust if you have stock exhaust probably won't work because it may rub the tire. My car was a bare bones roller and did not have any exhaust system in place when I started.

Good advice. I'm going with a 275/60-15 MT ETs with 4.5" backspacing, 0mm offset on 15x8 TT Ds on the rear. If my measurements are right, I should have about 3/4 of an inch (+/-) clearance on the springs and should be barely inside the fenders. 26 x 8 MT SRs on the front on 15x6 TT Ds. We'll see what happens.

How did these work out for you, any pictures? I'm in the same boat you were, wondering how wide I can get away with.
