whats the widest i can go with out a mini tub?

 

I fitted 17 x 7 front and 17 x 8 rearWheel Vintique Rally Wheels on my 1970 1/2 SS and they look great. I couldn't find a 8.5" or 9" wide that would fit without rubbing.

 

What size tires did you use with your 17" wheels?

 

I have a 72 with 315/35/17 rear and 245/45/17 fronts. The rear will only rub on hard bump with 3 or more people in it. They are american Racing Torque thrust II rims but i am not quite sure of the back spacing. I have posted pictures on here showing the 13" wide rear tires. They are Pirelli P7000 tires. I would ask a tire shop to size the back spacing for you. Look at my pictures, it is red with black rally stripes and cowl induction hood.

 

Ok that's wild....My car is a clone of that. Red, black stripes, good taste!! Those meaty tires do look good..
